Grateful at 32!

Time flies so fast… Last December 23, 2013, I celebrated my birthday and I’m grateful that I turned 32. It means that God added another year in my life.

"This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it." --Psalm 118:24

I know it’s kinda late to share what happened on my birthday but I feel like I’ve got to write this because that day was really a memorable event for me.

In the morning, Arnel, Sofia and me had a family breakfast date at Pan de Americana, Marikina.  The place was really nice and has lots of antique furniture and stuffs. I remember that there was one wall decorated with pictures of artists during 60’s, and 70’s. The food was good and the prices range from P70-120. Before leaving, I ordered 12 pieces of pandesal so that I can reheat the other pieces on the next day but when I received my order, I was overwhelmed with the big size of the bread. I told to my husband that we will be eating pandesal for our breakfast for five days. I was not able to capture the pandesal but the size is enough for a meal with a tuna spread or whatever spread you wish to put inside.

I felt happy and thankful that I celebrated my special day in a simple breakfast yet memorable with my family.

In the evening, my friends in the church came over to our
house, my parents and my tito and tita to celebrate my birthday.  It was fun and meaningful birthday celebration. After dinner, my church friends shared words of encouragement to me. I’m just amazed of how they described me as a person and as God’s daughter. Ako ba yun? Hahaha… Seriuosly,  nakakataba ng puso marinig ang mga sinabi nila kung papaano ako nag grow spiritually in my characters as well as how our marriage grew.

I really appreciate their words of encouragement to me and my family. Aside from my biological family, one of God’s blessings to me when I became a Christian is my brothers and sisters in the Lord. I’m really grateful that I have friends who are accountable with my relationship with God and I know their support are always present in good and bad times.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." --Proverbs 17:17

Have a great weekend everyone. :)

Hataw na: iSayaw Dance Marathon 2013

Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies. I can dance the whole day.  When I got married and had a baby, it’s rare for me to engage in dancing activities.

When my friend Bernice invited me to join a dance marathon, I did not hesitate to say YES. This is my chance again to be involve again in a dance activity and guess what? I finished the marathon. Yey..  Iba ang sense of fulfilment pag natapos ang marathon and how I wished that there will be another dance marathon and this time sana I'm one of the organizer (wishful thinking).

Months passed by, our church is in the process of creating a foundation and thinking of fund raising activities. Dance Marathon is the first activity that came up to my mind. Why not? Arnel and I suggested the activity to the CARE Foundation president, Dr. Jesse Caguioa. At first I was hesitant but I thought I have to take a chance because I know this will be a great activity that all ages can participate. Finally, Dr. Jesse accepted our suggestion and  viola, Dance Marathon is the first activity of the CARE Foundation.

The preparation for the iSayaw Dance Marathon took  one and half month, starting from the sponsorship, purchase of materials, planning the layout of the venue, registration and nitty gritty things.  As the event date get nearer, all of us in the fund raising committee are very nervous but we are always encourage by our faith in God. All things are possible to Him!

Indeed it is possible. Last November 30, 2013, the iSayaw Dance Marathon by CARE Foundation happened at the covered court of the Meriam College, Quezon City.  There were around 300 participants and their feedback was really good. In short, the first run of the marathon was successful.
